Sangiovese 85%, Merlot 10% and other red grapes 5%. Red in colour, with rich chromatic nuances and a distinctly fruity bouquet where the cherry tone is mitigated by a hint of vanilla and cinnamon. The flavour reflects the spicy undertone of the aroma and is balanced by a fine tannic note. The wine is refined by placing it in French oak casks for 10 months.

The harvest from these parcels is always carried out later because of the dominant varieties, Cabernet Franc & Cabernet Sauvignon. Careful vinification gives this wine depth, elegance and length in the mouth. The floral bouquet of the Cabernet variety is predominant in the wines youth but develops later towards the more complex aromas of a Grand Vin de Bordeaux. Beautiful deep colour with purple tints. Château de Pez is one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux's Left Bank and consists of 118 continuous acres with 103 acres planted to prime grape varieties, mainly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks to the quality of its production, Château de Pez is counted among the most highly reputed crus of the Médoc and was reclassified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in 2003. Elegant and modern, Pez 2nd is produced sustainably from the young vines of Château de Pez. Fresh, rich and well-balanced on the palate with a precise finish underpinned by delicious tannins.

This wine was created in 2001 in honour of Baron Pierre Le Roy de Boiseaumarié. With a blend in which Grenache and Syrah have pride of place, its complexity, opulence and delicate spicy and ripe fruit aromas, the Cuvée du Baron veritably embodies the distinctiveness of their terroir.

In 1815, Guillaume Lawton said of Château Lafite, 'I consider it to be the the most elegant and delicate, with the finest substance of the three (Premier Crus). The location of its vines is one of the finest in the Médoc'.
