Central Otago is home to New Zealand's largest high country sheep stations. The original shepherds who worked these stations have moved on, yet their spirit remains. The Last Shepherd celebrate these men with this Central Otago Pinot Noir. Medium ruby red, exhibiting vibrant dark berry aromas with hints of spice and smoke. The palate is rich and savoury with dark cherry and plum fruit characters with fine supple tannins, hints of pepper and spice and a savoury oak finish.

The Last Shepherd Syrah is a bold Hawke's Bay Syrah and a deliciously good story. Floral aromas such as lilac, violet with lifted dark berry notes appear on the nose. On the palate, flavours of boysenberry and plum with well-integrated oak influence come through. With medium weight on the palate, this wine has a hint of pepper and warm spices, rounded out with a soft and velvety finish.

Blending the Maude Pinot Noir is one of their favourite and most important tasks. Each year, the magical blend from the Poison Creek and Mohawk Hill vineyards changes. Maintaining the pedigree of the Maude Pinot Noir is absolutely critical; but achieving this requires flexibility with both the blend as well as the technique as both vary with each vintage. The winemaking team works with a family of growers to source a diverse variety of grapes from premier vineyards throughout California. The resulting wines are interesting blends of distinct quality and character. The Blend Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Merlot, and Malbec.

Angels' Share, a gorgeous silky rich Shiraz. Angels share refers to the small amount of wine that evaporates from oak barrels during maturation, Medieval winemakers assumed that angels watched over their wines and that they took their share.

Bramble, spice and wild herb aromatics sit gently on the nose, then lead to an elegant finely driven mouthfeel, showing poise, freshness and a lingering persistent finish.

Ruby red colour with garnet hues. Subtle bouquet with hints of sour black cherry and wild berries. On the palate, it's round and full of body, with a persistent and slightly tannic aftertaste.
