Central Otago's cool climate consistently produces exceptional red fruit flavours of cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, but with concentration and length to match. This wine is layered with black and red berry fruits, complemented by blossoming aromas of dark plum.

A complex wine with definite ageing potential. Fresh in nature with a spicy and sappy drive, red fruits, elegant form and a long mineral finish.

Typically deeply-coloured and alluring , the wine shows dark fruit, anise, and mocha aromatics. The palate is sweetly layered with delicate generosity on the front giving way to an intensely structured mid. Firm, yet suavely sculpted back tannins lead the long, sustained finish.

This limited edition organic Pinot Noir has a delicious intensity, which is realised on the palate with a smooth, silky texture delivering ripe cherry and wild berry flavours which finish long and elegant thanks to its perfect balance.

A complex nose of red fruits, baking spice and subtle floral notes. The nose is matched with a bright and alluring palate of summer berries, red liquorice and raspberry compote.

Deep dark plum colour with a nose of cherry and plum. Vineyard elements of spice and blue flowers shine through beautifully into the textural palate of expanding blueberry and ripened plum. Long fine-grained tannins threaded with subtle French oak smoke, support the fruit throughout.

An appealing wine in the glass which delivers a fantastic array of vibrant Central Otago Pinot Noir notes. Elegantly textured with finesse and great fruit length. On the palate taste memories of ripe red berries and dark cherries, so typical for vibrant Central Otago Pinot Noir, come to mind. This sensory experience is supported by an elegant well balanced structure of fine tannins and a nice vein of gentle acidity which leads to a juicy mouthfeel. A very appealing, delicious medium-bodied wine of great length.

Inviting vibrant red cranberry colour with medium density. Aromatics of delicate strawberry and forest floor with some spicy tertiary aromas showing. Toasty vanilla oak aromas accentuate the delicate fruit and spice. Strawberries and cream burst on the palate. Smooth medium body with fine tannins. Even palate weight displaying good minerality, terroir and length. Drinking wonderfully now but will continue to reward for the next 2-4 years.

The Basalte Pinot Noir is the bedrock bottling from the Willamette Valley. It is sourced from vineyards in two AVAs - Chehalem Mountains and Dundee Hills - that have fairly thin volcanic clay topsoil over fractured basalt. This type of very rocky soil lends itself to full-bodied, firmly structured wines. The Basalte captures this expressive character of the soil, with deep red fruit and a fine tannic structure that maintains the elegant style we are seeking.

They Trekked down to Central Otago to find the very best expression of Pinot Noir. Having had quite a lot of experience with fruit from the area, for us the sub-region of Gibbston shows Pinot Noir in its most finest form, and therefore we went on a mission to source fruit from a stunning little pocket just underneath the very dramatic and imposing Nevis Bluff. Like thier whites; structure, acidity, texture and an element of savouriness are the watchwords that are transposed into this wine, with that classic Gibbston nose of wild herb and briar.

The wine is a clear, bright ruby colour. A complex array of high toned red fruit aromas, ripe cherry, raspberry, cranberry with lifted floral notes, undertones of fine spice, savoury herb and quality oak Juicy, youthful and vibrant fruit driven palate. Super smooth and supple with delicate and fine fruity tannins complimenting a balanced spine of acidity. Pure cherry flavours with some sweet oak notes evident on the finish. Drinking very nicely in its' youth. Very moreish. Cellar with confidence for 3-5 years
