Oban is one of Scotland's oldest and smallest distilleries. Founded in 1794, the West Highland port town of the same name has grown around the distillery. The Dalmore 12 is a Highland Single Malt shaped by careful maturation in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, followed by a finish in rare, aged Oloroso Sherry casks. This whisky has, unusually, been distilled using peated malted barley. The GlenDronach 'peated' pays homage to the peat historically used to dry malted barley in the traditional floor maltings. Matured in bourbon casks followed by a second period of maturation in the finest Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.
